Robyn and I being silly. I'm sure the passing cars were wondering what we were doing.
Our first family picture.
A one year old in a tux. Is there anything cuter?Five years ago today, Payton was born. It really goes by quickly. Jim and I have been talking about all that happened in the days leading up to his birth. We joke about Payton could have been born on the 29th if the Packers didn't play a Monday night game. I wasn't feeling good and said maybe we should go to the hospital. I wasn't contracting, but something just wasn't right. Jim said we should wait until morning and just go to the doctor together. We got up in the morning and planned to go out for Chinese after my appointment. My doctor said we should have an ultrasound just to be safe, since I was 3 days overdue at this point. So we walked to the hospital across the street for the ultrasound and non-stress test. Once the ultrasound was done we went to have the non-stress test up in the maternity ward, so I was changing into a gown and just getting comfy. That's when my doctor ran into my room. I was very worried since I knew he had appointments at the clinic. He told me the ultrasound showed my placenta might be tearing away from my uterus. Also, my fluids were looking low. So he said I should prepared for a c-section. He gave me the option to be induced and try to labor, but it could be dangerous. Not the right thing to tell someone like me. So of course I start crying and call my family. Jim's mom and sister were there within 5 minutes. I made Jim go home to get the camera and hospital bag. Luckily we only live about 5 minutes away.2 hours later we were in the operating room having a baby. It all worked out fine in the end, but it was a scary experience. It's amazing how much you can remember, even though I couldn't tell you what I wore yesterday or had for breakfast today.
Payton is a great kid and I'm so proud of him.
Happy Birthday!!
