May Day

I remember being a kid and getting so excited to celebrate May Day. My friend and I would pick flowers from neighbor's garden and drop them off on someone else's door step, ring the bell and run away quickly. It was so much fun!! Every year since Payton was one, we made or bought flowers and a basket. Payton would decorate the paper basket and flowers. This year, since he's in school, it was easier to just buy some pretty flowers. He was SO excited because as we were driving off to school that morning, he saw someone had already given us some flowers. I told him we would do it as soon as we got home from school. He LOVES to surprise people, so this is just up his alley. When we got home, the one neighbor was waiting and ran out to chase him as he ran away. It was so cute!! He was so bummed that one neighbor wasn't home. I said it was still a surprise, but he wanted to take their flower and card to someone else. It's fun to live in a neighborhood where everyone is so friendly and happy to see our kids. We are one of the younger families, so it's like living on a street full of grandparents.
