Every year, Jim carves the best pumpkins. Payton loves to help, so we let him draw a face and Jim carves out whatever Payton draws. Then he gets creative and does something really cool. Last year he made a pirate face to go with Payton's costume. We'll probably do the carving tonight. It's the start of Halloween once the pumpkins get a face.
Today is also Payton's Fall Harvest party. That's the politically correct way of saying Halloween party. They'll have a costume parade and fun and games in the afternoon. I like it because he can wear his costume more than once and we can figure out how to do makeup today. He'll be a SWAT team member. Rachel will wear a princess costume I found at Old Navy for $5. Then on Halloween, she'll be a leopard costume that Olivia wore a few years ago. I love this time of year!
